The Spirit of Yachting

IMG media got in touch with me about pitching on a refresh of teh show titles for The Spirit of Yachting. Below are teh winning pitch frames and final title sequence. The brief was to use show footage captured on a variety of cameras and resolutions and try and get more shots into the 30sec titles than they previously had. I came up with the idea of using split screens and mirrored images to increase the shot count. 

The client wanted to include data from the race and crews somehow into the titles, so I decided to come up with a bespoke UI interface working with a UI designer to create a set of overlays that could then be animated and tracked in 3D. 

My involvement with this project was as lead designer and VFX creative director, as well as final compositer using Nuke. The entire process was completed through LOSTLOVERS VFX remotely with the client. From pitch to offline through to online, design and VFX ending with grade and sound design.
